I framed a dozen of my TTV shots over the weekend to take to a local art shop/gallery. I had chatted with the owner briefly while buying a necklace for a friend and she mentioned they would be having an "Art for Under $100" show in December.
Sunday was pouring rain and cold and I just couldn't be bothered to go over there.
Then yesterday they were closed.
I got myself over there today, finally, and she took the box full after we discussed price and percentages, etc. She says she's decided to keep everything up through January because with the holidays and her going away it will be too hectic for her employees. The town where I live started doing "First Fridays" a while ago to go along with the First Fridays in Philadelphia... the first Friday of a month being when galleries have always typically held opening receptions for their new monthly show. Many cities hold these now.
So this Friday I will stop in and say hello and hope to see some good reactions. I think they are a nice size for a gift. :-)
Also this Friday I'll be going into Philadelphia with Christy to meet up with a gallery owner who is interested in her and I together this February. Many thanks to Christy for getting the ball rolling on that! We will keep you posted, of course!
Amazing how much better I feel having taken one positive action today. That got me motivated to set up the art galleries on my website (still have a few to go...it is tedious). So while I am not feeling particularly inspired still, I'm managing to keep the suck voices to a dull roar.
